  • About the Council

    The Chenango County Child Care Coordinating Council is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to coordinate, assist, strengthen, and promote child care for all children and their families regardless of income, racial, and ethnic heritage or family configuration.The Council’s Board of Directors consists of representatives from various agencies dealing with the well-being of children and families of Chenango County. Parents, caregivers, and businesses are also represented.

  • What Is CCR&R?


    The Child Care Resource & Referral Program has been established by the Council to provide resources to the community by improving the availability and quality of child care, and a provider referral service to parents and employers seeking child care. These goals are achieved through a variety of programs including:

    Developing and maintaining a countywide child care referral service.


    • Assisting in the development of new child care services while maintaining and improving existing programs.

    • The training of day care center staff and management, professional day care providers, board members and parents.

    • Educating the public through programs designed to increase awareness of what good childcare is and why it is important.

    • Consulting with business and public agencies to establish employer-supported child care services.

    • Assisting in the development and promotion of policy initiatives which expand and maintain the supply of quality child care in local communities and throughout the state.

    • Training and continued education for the Child Passenger Safety Technicians and parents in conjunction with local and state law enforcement to protect our children while traveling in our communities.

    • Providing a lending library with information and materials, including Early Intervention.

  • Meeting Employer’s Needs



    One of the goals of the Child Care Council is to help businesses address the critical needs of working parents. By offering employees assistance with child care, a business can increase productivity, reduce absenteeism and build stronger employee relations. Services which can be arranged through the Child Care Council include:

    The availability of on-site seminars designed to provide insight and education about childcare and related issues.

    Enhance referral services tailored to the needs of corporate parents.
